Privacy notice

Our own code doesn't record your IP address, keep browsing histories or build profiles. When you click a retailer link we add one to that deal's click counter. The counter doesn't record who clicked.

Personalisation is off unless you switch it on. If you choose interests and a budget on the For you page, they are saved only in your browser's local storage. They are sent to our server only as part of a request for recommendations, are used to rank deals for that request, and are neither stored nor logged. You can delete them at any time with “Clear my preferences” on that page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

A few features remember things on your device only, never on our servers:

• Compare list: the products you add to compare (up to four) are kept in your browser's local storage until you remove them.
• Assistant conversation: kept in this browser tab's session storage so the chat survives a page reload. It is deleted when you close the tab, and older conversations are dropped automatically.
• Search notices: a short message such as “Smart search is unavailable right now” is held in session storage for a moment so it can be shown on the results page.

When you use AI search or the assistant, the text you type is sent to our AI provider to produce an answer, and it may be processed outside India. To keep the conversation going, the assistant sends your earlier messages in the same chat along with each new question. Before sending it we automatically remove things that look like email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers, Aadhaar numbers and PAN numbers, but please don't type personal details at all. We don't store your questions or the answers. AI features are currently switched off, so no question text leaves our servers.

For cost control we log each AI request's feature name, token counts, cost, duration and whether it succeeded. These logs contain no question text and nothing that identifies you.

The extension does nothing until you click its button. Then, and only then, it sends the web address of the tab you are on to our server, so we can tell you whether we list that product. It doesn't read or change the page, doesn't touch retailer links, doesn't run in the background and keeps no history. Our server uses the address only to answer that one lookup and doesn't store it. The only thing the extension saves is its own setting (which PaisaPick site to ask), in your browser's extension storage.

If you add PaisaPick to ChatGPT, ChatGPT sends us the search words, product links or product IDs it chooses for each request, and we answer with the same public listing information this site shows. ChatGPT may also send technical details such as an anonymous user ID or your language. We use these only to answer the request and don't store them or your conversation. What ChatGPT does with your chats is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy and your ChatGPT settings.

To stop automated abuse we limit how often features can be used. For this we keep a counter keyed by a salted one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself. Counters cover short time windows and are deleted automatically, normally within a few days.

The public site sets no cookies of its own. Cookies are used only to keep our staff signed in to the admin area. Amazon.in and Flipkart set their own cookies when you visit them, including the ones that let them credit us with a commission; their privacy policies apply there.

Like any website, our hosting and database providers may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) to run and secure the service and to meet legal requirements. We use them only for security and troubleshooting.

Our team signs in with an email address and password through our authentication provider. We keep an audit log of changes staff make to listings.
